Jeepneys and more Jeepneys... And traffic

As a commuter my whole life, I realized some things that should be left to the person's own thoughts but I'm gonna share some stuff anyway. Firstly, may I point out that most of the jeepney drivers anywhere in the Philippines do not know what the yellow border or the dashed white lines painted on the streets are used for. Many even follow the dashed line as if it were a guide, like a cutout for scissors! Then next comes road courtesy. If one would drive down the street following a jeepney, one should be cautious when doing so. This is because these jeepneys tend to swerve from corner to corner as if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Street signs. These are signs on the road that one should follow in order not to get into trouble or accidents. There is one particular street sign that caught my attention, though. The infamous "No stopping anytime"! These poor street signs tend to get shunned by most jeepney drivers. I mean, the words are crystal clear to understand! NO means do not, STOPPING means to discontinue and ANYTIME means ANYTIME! put it all together and you get a very simple to understand message.

Has it ever occurred to you why typical commuters tend to scoot towards the back end of a jeepney instead of moving forward whenever a new passenger comes in? I mean, if people where to scoot forward, the new passenger would have an easier time finding a spot to sit. Is it really that hard? There must be some advantages when sitting near the back end of the jeep, I just don't know what yet though.
